It has been confirmed that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.

A Significant Reunion for Fans

The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their appearance will probably be featured in a flash-forward sequence, considering the original saga concluded with their characters living in peace.

This signifies the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Delving Into the Prequel

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from a 2025 novel by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. • Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a earlier incarnation of the calculating President Snow.
